Ingredients:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup warm water
Instructions:
- In a large bowl, mix together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Add in the vegetable oil and warm water, using a wooden spoon to combine them into a soft dough.
- Knead the dough for about 10 minutes, until it’s smooth and elastic.
- Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest for 30 minutes.
- After 30 minutes, the dough is ready to be used for making momos!

Vegetable Momo Filling:
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup cabbage, finely chopped
- 1/4 cup carrot, finely chopped
- 3-4 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 green chili, finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, minced
- 1 teaspoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- Salt, to taste
- 1 teaspoon coriander powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin powder
Non-Veg Momo Filling:
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup minced chicken
- 2-3 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 green chili, finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, minced
- 1 teaspoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- Salt, to taste
- 1 teaspoon coriander powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin powder
Instructions:
- Heat a pan over medium heat
- Add oil, garlic, and ginger and fry for a few seconds.
- For Veg : Add cabbage, carrot, green chili, coriander powder, cumin powder and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes.
- For Non-Veg : Add minced chicken, green chili, coriander powder, cumin powder and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes.
- Add soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and mix well
- Cook for another minute.
- Turn off the heat and let the mixture cool down completely.
- Fill the momos with the prepared filling.
Now it’s time to assemble the momo. Take a small piece of dough and roll it into a ball. Flatten the ball and use a rolling pin to roll it into a thin disc. Place a tablespoon of filling in the center of the disc and fold the edges together to form a semi-circle. Crimp the edges together to seal in the filling. Repeat this process until all the momo are assembled.
Fried Momos
To make fried momo, heat up a pan with a generous amount of oil. Once the oil is hot, carefully add in the momo to the pan and fry them for 3-4 minutes until golden brown. Once the momo are fried, remove them from the pan and set aside.
Steam – fried momos
To make steam-fried momo, heat up a steamer and place the momo on the steamer rack. Steam the momo for 10-15 minutes until they are cooked through. Once the momo are cooked, remove them from the steamer and set aside.
